Attractive and long lasting
The Alton Popular is constructed from selected Canadian Western Red Cedar, a timber renowned for its natural rot resistance and extremely long life outdoors. It will blend attractively into any garden, becoming a feature to admire rather than a building to hide away. All the timber is further protected by pre-treatment in Cuprinol preservative. Ten year Alton frame guarantee.

Superior Performance
Most experts agree that cedar wood is the best material for a greenhouse. Wooden greenhouses don't get as cold or as hot as aluminium ones, so they provide a healthier growing environment. From a practical point of view, it is much easier to fix things to a wooden frame.

Securely Anchored
Like the larger Altons, the Popular is mounted on heavy concrete base kerbs which provide the necessary substantial anchorage to secure the greenhouse against high winds.

Easier to Erect
All the major sections are supplied pre-assembled and ready grazed, which means you don't have to handle a single piece of loose glass. The large sections simply bolt together through pre-drilled holes, which makes assembly quick and easy. We supply all the necessary bolts and screws as well as comprehensive instructions.

Easy to work in
The generous eaves height gives you plenty of headroom, compared to other models, and lets all you plants and flowers grow to their full potential. The easy glide door and the kerb free threshold make access both safe and easy.

ALTONPOPULAR GREENHOUSES have a sliding door and kerbless doorway for easy access.

FULL LENGTH GLAZING

Many greenhouses have small overlapped glazing panels which are difficult and dangerous to clean and which eventually form a slimy green deposit of algae in the glass overlap.

ALTON GREENHOUSES have full-length glazing panels giving maximum light transmission. They are held in place by Cedar glazing beads - so there's no putty to go brittle and fall out.

ALTON CONCRETE BASE KERBS

All ALTON GREENHOUSES are designed for erecting with 5" 13cm high perimeter concrete base kerbs between the ground and the bottom of the timber frame. Our purpose-designed sectional concrete base provides a really solid, attractive and economical way of doing this.

The site for the greenhouse should be perfectly flat and level and it is essential that the ground is well compacted to support the weight of the building. If the ground is soft or loose it is important to lay a perimeter concrete foundation onto which the base kerbs can be positioned.

ALTONAUTOMATIC ROOF VENTS

Just set and forget. These units automatically open and close vents in response to climatic conditions.
