ALTON CONCRETE BASE KERBS

All ALTON GREENHOUSES are designed for erecting with 5' 13crn high perimeter concrete base kerbs between the ground and the bottom of the timber frame. Our purpose-designed sectional concrete base provides a really solid, attractive and economical way of doing this.

The site for the greenhouse should be perfectly flat and level and it is essential that the ground is well compacted to support the weight of the building. If the ground is soft or loose it is important to lay a perimeter concrete foundation onto which the base kerbs can be positioned.

ALTON ADDITIONAL ROOF VENTS

Increased roof ventilation can be provided, if required, by fitting additional roof vents.

ALTON LOUVRE VENTS

Extra side ventilation can be provided by fitting louvre vents at staging height. Use them in conjunction with roof ventilation and Ventaccess panels to promote healthy air circulation at all levels of the greenhouse. Automatic openers are also available, so extra ventilation can take place in your absence.

ALTON EXTENSION MODULES

Always buy the biggest greenhouse that space and finances will allow. Also bear in mind that it's better to go for maximum width rather than length because ALTON GREENHOUSES can be increased in length at a later date.

All ALTON GREENHOUSES can be extended in length in either direction using these pre-treated extension modules, You simply remove the greenhouse end panel, bolt the extension modules in place and then replace the end panel.

ALTON CLADDING

As a optional extra there's the versatility provided by Alton's instant-fit Cedar cladding panels which simply clip over the outside of the glass. This means you can modify your greenhouse to suit different crops from one season to the next - easily, conveniently and at reasonable cost.

These give you year-round versatility - clad to staging height all round for maximum heat retention in winter or for growing ferns in summer; glass-to-ground all round for growing tall subjects such as tomatoes or gladioli; or partially clad for the best of both worlds.

ALTON INTERNAL PARTITION

Internal partitioning allows you to keep different parts of the greenhouse at different temperatures for hot/cool house versatility. It is available for the Amateur 8'0" 2.43m and 10'0' 3.20m wide models only.

ALTON GREENHOUSE EXTERNAL SHADING

Specialist U/V stabilised greenhouse shading material in green for fitting on the outside of the greenhouse. Only external shading keeps both the heat out and stops the burning of delicate plants and seedlings. Available with a standard drop of 6' (1.83m) and in a length to suit your greenhouse, each kit is supplied complete with fittings so it can easily and quickly be put on or taken off as required. Provides 70% shading and is flexible enough so that roof vents can operate quite easily beneath it.

ALTON ADDITIONAL DOOR

An additional sliding door - to provide a door at both ends of the greenhouse - is available if ordered together with the greenhouse.

ALTON DOUBLE DOOR

An alternative available only on the 10' 3.20m wide Amateur, which provides an enormous opening 4'4' 1.32m wide - ideal for wheelchair access.

All building dimensions shown on this site are approximate, based on external wall sizes. Always make allowance for any roof overhang for installation, or wall thickness if internal dimensions are critical. All models are pre-treated with top quality timber preservative, have pre-glazed frames, easy glide door(s), roof vent and instructions.
